The Lawmaker who also holds the position of Deputy Health Minister, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. P.K.B. Kumor has visited the site for the construction of the first-ever Science Based Senior High School at Weija for the people of Weija-Gbawe Municipality.
They were flanked by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Vida Awuku, and the Presiding Member, Hon. Andrew Oppong Amoako, some Assembly Members, and Heads of Departments of the Municipal Assembly.
At the site, workers were seen busily carrying out work on the first-ever SHS project in the Municipality. She was impressed with the level of work done so far by the contractor.
In a chit-chat with Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah, she stated that from her checks, the Science Based Senior High is expected to be completed by January 2023, therefore she hopes this materializes to make it ready for use for the 2023/2024 SHS academic year.
She said, education is key in her scheme of things, hence her unflinching support towards the course of education in her constituency. “Education continues to be the key to success”, she emphasized.
The first-ever Senior High School in the constituency is the only model school in Greater Accra and among 9 other model schools planted in specific areas of the country.
The construction of the project which began in 2019 with a sod cutting by the President of the land, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was lobbied for the constituency by Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah, MP for Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
